This work is essentially intended for students and the general public having little or no exposure to the economic concept of elasticity. It is also an attempt to elucidate the concept for those having difficulty with its various forms and applications. Readers will learn that elasticity is one of the most interesting and useful concepts in economics. Though calculus can be readily applied to elasticity, this work employs only basic arithmetic and algebra. The author has drawn extensively from his reading and study of elasticity. He has incorporated much of his research in the book to illustrate the meaning and usefulness of elasticity in economics. The book generally has a microeconomic focus, but the author also demonstrates elasticity in a macroeconomic sense in relation to America`s amazing, if not unique, World War II experience. Readers are encouraged to use pad and pencil in their reading to facilitate and enhance their comprehension of the concepts discussed.
