This book provides a groundbreaking roadmap for sustainable agriculture through nanomaterials derived from bio-wastes. Blending theoretical depth with practical protocols, this resource is indispensable for students, researchers, and practitioners seeking sustainable and eco-friendly farming practices. It addresses the current gap in representing the vast potential of nano-particles in agriculture, particularly emphasizing their role in environmental protection and long-term agricultural solutions. Covering topics from fundamental principles to advanced hierarchical applications, it offers detailed insights into the preparation, characterisation, and applications of bio-waste-derived nanomaterials. By integrating both theoretical foundations and technical procedures, the authors aim to support UG and PG students, as well as researchers and academicians, in understanding and applying nanotechnology effectively. With a focus on innovative, economically viable, and eco-friendly approaches, this work provides a unique blend of environmental sustainability and practical guidance, offering solutions for modern agricultural challenges.

Dr Aneesa Batool, raised in the historic town of Tral, owes her foundational guidance and authorship potential to her father, a beacon of light. She holds a PhD in Chemistry, specializing in nanotechnology. Her research is recognized through two granted patents, ‘Nanofungicidal Composition and Methods Thereof” and ‘Methods for the Synthesis of Nanoparticle Compositions from Buckwheat Plant Waste’. She has published research articles, review papers, and book chapters in reputed national and international journals. She is a recipient of the Swachhta Sarthi Fellowship (2022). She serves as an Associate Editor for the ‘Plant Protection Journal’, a member of the ‘Agricultural Research Communication Centre (ARCC) Journals Reviewer Community’, and an active reviewer for several international journals.

Dr Sajad Majeed Zargar, Post-doctorate, is currently an Associate Professor at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-Kashmir) in India and a visiting Professor at the University of Padova, Italy. He was previously a Visiting Professor at the Nara Institute of Science and Technology, Japan. Dr Zargar has received a Cutting-edge Research Enhancement and Scientific Training (CREST) overseas fellowship from the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, supervised and mentored several doctoral and postdoctoral scholars and received several grants from various national and international funding sources.
