The book sheds light on the chronology of contemporary Muslim cemetery burial places in Dagestan during the Qajar century through feudal Khanates, art patrons, and Shiite businesspeople with ties to Iran’s central government.
The collection of essays highlights the significance of historical events and the influence of religious teachings on military operations in population dispersal and migrations through the multilingual inscriptions of tombstones.
The book details the theological circumstances that dominated the Shiite population’s sentiments throughout Dagestan communities following the martyrdom and burial of Imam Hussein (may Allah be pleased with him) in Karbala, the epicenter of the Shiite Islamic world.

Muhammad Abo Elkhier received his PhD in Archaeological Inscriptions and Epigraphy. In the UAE, Kuwait, England, Moldova, and Egypt, he has authored ten volumes on epigraphy, Islamic antiquities, written inscriptions, and Islamic civilization. Both the Azov Museum and the Arab Council of the General Union of Arab Archaeologists have given him international honors. He has led discussions at nine international conferences and given guest lectures.
