This book details the pollutants and toxic substances present in wastewater, as well as methods for their measurement and removal. Applying substrate limiting thermophilic anaerobic digestion with physical adsorption as the research concept and Federal Environmental Protection Agency (FEPA) discharge limits as the research basis, statistical analysis is applied to rank the key pollutants in the wastewater. Reaction rates at mesophilic and thermophilic conditions are also compared, since it could help avoid the problem of accumulation, which is an environmental disaster. The book will be useful for students and lecturers in universities, as well as workers in industries, research institutes and ministries related to wastewater treatment and the environment.
