This study explores the critical role of peace and unity in shaping a more resilient and inclusive Nigeria in the 21st century. It examines how national cohesion, interethnic dialogue, and conflict resolution strategies contribute to sustainable development, democratic governance, and social progress. Against the backdrop of Nigeria’s complex socio-political challenges—ranging from insurgency and secessionist agitations to ethnic and religious tensions—the research underscores peace and unity as foundational pillars for nation-building. Drawing on historical experiences, policy frameworks, and global peacebuilding models, the work offers practical pathways for promoting tolerance, reconciliation, and national integration.

Dr Musa Mohammed Bello, a native of Kano State and of Hausa ethnicity, is a distinguished academic and Lecturer at the Federal University of Science and Technology, Babura, Nigeria, in the General Studies (GST) Unit. He holds a PhD in Peace and Conflict Studies from Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Nigeria, and an MSc in Peace and Conflict Resolution from the National Open University of Nigeria. Dr Bello has authored over 40 scholarly articles published in reputable local and international journals. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Administration (CIA) and a full member of the Society for Peace Studies and Practice (SPSP). With extensive academic engagement, he has participated in 26 conferences and workshops globally. Dr Bello’s work reflects a deep commitment to research, peacebuilding, and the advancement of conflict resolution strategies in Nigeria and beyond.
