This book develops a new framework—narrative constructivism—to explore how stories shape, sustain, and challenge systems of knowledge and moral reasoning. Drawing on philosophy, social theory, and political epistemology, it investigates the crucial role that narratives play in the formation of belief, identity, and public discourse, especially in times that are shaped by political and social pluralism. By bridging analytic and continental traditions, it offers a unique lens for understanding contemporary ideological conflicts and the epistemic conditions of democracy.
Accessible yet theoretically rich, this work appeals to philosophers, political theorists, sociologists, and media scholars, particularly those interested in epistemology, ethics, and narrative theory. It introduces a fresh vocabulary for thinking about the normative and epistemic responsibilities embedded in storytelling practices and invites renewed attention to the ways reason and narrative intertwine in both private belief and public life.

Dr Vladimir Lukić is currently employed as an associate professor at Jilin International Studies University, China and holds a joint PhD in philosophy from the University of Antwerp, Belgium and the University of Pardubice, Czech Republic. His research focuses on social epistemology, political deliberation, and the moral dimensions of narrative in contemporary digital environments. He has presented internationally on themes such as value pluralism, post-truth, narrative theory, and philosophy of video games. His work has appeared in journals addressing ethics, epistemology, and democratic theory.
Vladimir’s academic journey has been shaped by interdisciplinary engagement, combining analytic clarity with narrative sensitivity. His doctoral research developed a constructivist approach to the social role of storytelling in moral and political life, which forms the backbone of this book. He has also contributed to public philosophy and interdisciplinary workshops and is committed to making philosophical insight relevant to broader cultural and civic debates.
