This book describes in a critical way the major learning theories and the main research results about them. Primarily a literature review, its main purpose is to elaborate the major learning theories that teachers, students, and other educators use in the process of acquisition of knowledge and skills. The author explores the concept and practice of learning, starting from early notions and continuing with behaviorism, gestaltism, cognitivism, constructivism, social constructivism, and pragmatism theories of learning. Each of these theories of learning is shown in the book, citing the well-known authors in the field of education, especially in learning. In addition, the results of research are shown, and practical experience from a wide range of researchers worldwide. The author emphasizes in the book that all theories of learning are important in teaching and learning, but current paradigms’ impacts are confirmed by research in acquisition of knowledge and skills by learners. The book has a great impact in practical implications of learning approaches in the classroom as well as in research. Therefore, it is a valuable resource for teachers, educators, students, administrators, as well as for researchers.

Nazmi Xhomara obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Science Teaching in 1988. He has subsequently earned a MND (2012), a PhD (2015), and an Associate Prof academic title (2021) at the University of Tirana, Albania. Previously a lecturer at the European University of Tirana, he is lecturing now at Luarasi University, Albania. He has also lectured part-time at the University of Tirana since 2010. He has written many scientific papers and books. He has also presented papers at many scientific international conferences. His research interests lie in Curriculum, Instruction and Learning Methodologies, Assessment, Class management, Academic Writing, Advanced Research Methods, and Leadership and Management of Education.
