One of the key trajectories of postcolonial South Asian literature has consistently engaged with questions of migration and displacement, exile and identity. This volume addresses these critical questions through an engagement with contemporary South Asian diasporic literature. It brings on board experienced and young scholars, the works of whom enrich and expand the domain of South Asian literary studies. With themes such as literary perspectives on migration and diasporization, discourses of colonial diasporas, negotiating exile and identity, historical time and haptics of memory, and displacement and conflict in diaspora literature, the volume is a fundamental contribution to the study of postcolonial diasporic writing.
Arctic Modernities
The modern Arctic is more than melting glaciers; it’s a mix of indigenous tradition and a mundane everyday. This volume examines how heroic images continue to shape our view of the region: as a utopian future, a symbol of modernity, or a mythic, nostalgic past.
